December Meeting: Holiday Dinner and Auction.
The December chapter meeting will be held on Monday, December 11, 2006 at at Pal's Cabin in West Orange, NJ. The Board Meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.  Dinner is at 6:30 p.m.  Auctioneer and appraiser Robert J. Connelly, ASA, AAA, FRICS will talk about sports memorabilia and host the Holiday Auction. Bring a friend, a colleague, or family, and bring a gift (gourmet basket, wine, perfume, golf or tennis item, bric-a-brac, collectibles, etc.) or your corporate gift for the Auction. Dinner is $30. Bob Connelly, who operates an antiques, auctions and appraisals business with his wife Sallie, has performed appraisals for the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame, the Basketball Hall of Fame, and other sports museums. He has testified many times on the valuation of sports memorabilia and celebrity items. Some of his more interesting appraisal assignments include the original Heisman trophy, the oldest known soccer ball in the world, and Liberace's costumes. A popular after-dinner speaker, radio and TV personality, Bob was lead appraiser on Fox Cable Network's Personal FX Show.
