December Meeting: Annual Holiday Party
The December chapter meeting will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010 at 6:30 pm at Pal's Cabin in West Orange, NJ. The meeting is our Annual Holiday Party, and will feature fine art appraiser, Alan Fausel talking about “Discovering Dog Art.”
Alan Fausel is Vice President and Director of Fine Arts at Bonhams, a privately owned British auction house. Distinguished as a scholar, curator, and appraiser, he holds a bachelor's degree in art history from UCLA, a master's degree and doctoral study at Stanford University. Mr. Fausel served on the appraisal staff of Butterfield's Auction in San Francisco and Doyle New York. He was on the curatorial staff of the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and the Frick Art Museum in Pittsburgh. At Bonhams, Mr. Fausel conducts regular sales of American, European and Old Master paintings. He also manages the famous Dogs in Show & Field Sale in New York City. Mr. Fausel teaches at New York University's Graduate School of Arts Education and is a paintings appraiser on PBS's Antiques Roadshow since the series began in 1997.
The program qualifies for one hour of ASA Continuing Education Credit. Dinner is $30 person for Candidate members, guests and friends, and FREE for AM and ASA members.
