November Meeting: Marketability Discounts
The November chapter meeting will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at Pal's Cabin in West Orange, NJ. The Board Meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. followed by Networking at 6:30, and Dinner at 7:00. The guest speaker will be Espen Robak, CFA, President of Pluris Valuation Advisors in New York City, who will talk about Marketability Discounts.
A nationally recognized expert on restricted securities, securities design, levels of value, and discounts for lack of liquidity, Mr. Robak studied at the Univeristy of Oregon, earning an MBA in Finance from its Lundquist College of Business after graduating with a B.S. in Finance and Marketing. He is a prolific writer on business, valuation and taxation topics, and speaks frequently at seminars and professional conferences. His recent articles have covered FAS 157, new Rule 144, PIPE valuations, M&A arbitrage data, restricted stock and discounts for lack of marketability, valuation of trademarks and other intellectual properties.
